Lara is an award-recognized screenwriter whose work has been supported through the Lambda Literary Screenwriting Fellowship, NBC Launch TV Writing Program, Mentorship Matters TV Writing Program, and the 1in4 Coalition Mentorship Program for disabled screenwriters. Her scripts have also been recognized in competitions including the Austin Film Festival Screenplay & Teleplay Competition, Fresh Voices Screenplay Competition, ScreenCraft, Launch Pad, and The Script Lab.
